Although Hal Higdon is best known for best-selling running books, including, Run Fast and Marathon: The Ultimate Training Guide, nearly a third of his nearly three dozen books were written for children, including The Horse That Played Center Field, made into an animated film by ABC-TV. Run, Dogs, Run! is his latest book for young people. Although designed for beginning readers--children aged three to six--many adult runners are discovering that Run, Dogs, Run! is fun to read and looks good on their coffee tables.
Higdon first created Run, Dogs, Run! as an e-book for the Internet in collaboration with Dana Summers, editorial cartoonist for the Orlando Sentinel, and his daughter-in-law Camille Higdon, who serves as webmaster for his popular Web site.
