This handy 48-page booklet serves as a companion volume to my best-selling Marathon: The Ultimate Training Guide. Order a copy of that book, and you get the booklet free. Runners who sign up for the CARA Marathon Training Class use the booklet as a handy paper reference as they prepare for The LaSalle Banks Chicago Marathon.

Each year demand causes us to reprint the booklet. This year my Marathon Training Guide has been fully revised to better meet the needs of today's runners. Responding to demand, I decided to expand on the weekly directions offered Novice runners and also add a log so they can record their workouts. There are tips and a section featuring "10 Steps to Your First Marathon" as well as an end-of-the-book feature on marathon recovery. The booklet also contains schedules for Intermediate and Advanced runners (although no weekly directions). All of this information is available on my Web site, but the booklet serves as a quick reference guide as well as a convenient way to keep track of your training.
